The Frye Art Museum is a cultural and educational center for the Seattle community and beyond. The museum was founded by Charles and Emma Frye in 1952, and was originally called the Frye Art Gallery. Originally housed in the home of Charles and Emma Frye, the Frye’s gifted their home and its contents to the City of Seattle and the museum was renamed Frye Art Museum. It is one of Seattle's most prominent attractions, exhibiting the work of both living and historical artists. At the request of Charles Frye, the museum offers free admission every day.
